Kaixo--Greetings! We're glad
you're thinking about learning / improving the speaking of Euskara.
EUSKALUDNAK (the Basques) have been referred to
as Europe's Indians; i.e., they are Europe's oldest original inhabitants that
are still around. Long before their neighbors (today's Spanish, French,
Celts, Germans, etc.) migrated into Europe the Basques were there in their small
corner of the world they called EUSKAL HERRIA. Therefore EUSKARA is
the oldest language spoken in that part of the world. Unfortunately, it is
an endangered
language. The number of the world's languages continues to
shrink and the future of Euskara/Basque is being currently decided. Help
be a part of keeping our language alive!
Learning a new language can be quite a challenge.
There is no substitute for the hard-work that it will entail but there are some
resources that can make the task easier for us. This website is here to
hopefully inspire you to continue in your quest to learn Euskara--the Basque
language. NABO has teamed with HABE is making available the BOGA software program
to facilitate your learning.
