IRAKASLEAK: Hosting visiting Basque instructors

One way to add a nice dynamic to your local Euskara teaching program is to host a visiting Euskara instructor for a few weeks.  NABO regularly gets inquiries about this.  Contact the people below for more information:

Urtarrilaren 15ean euskara irakasleen batzarra izango dugu eta bururatu zait zuen informazioa ematea irakasle guztiei.
Interesa baduzu udan etortzeko eta euskara klaseak emateko janaria eta egoitzaren truke. Bidali niri email bat informazio honekin eta honela guztion datuak edukiko ditut antolatuta eta euskal etxeei bidaliko dizkiet. Mesedez idatzi ingelesez, askoz ere politagoa izango da eta

1. Izena eta deitura eta adina
2. Emaila, telefonoa eta skype helbidea
2. Jatorria eta zure euskalkia
4, Irakasle titulua duzun edo esperientzia
5. Datak (noiz etorri eta noiz itzuli)
6. Herria ala hiria nahiago
7. Familia mota ( nolako familia nahi duzun) (umeak, txakurrak, erlijioa, erretzaileak, kirolak...
8. Nolakoa zara zu? pertsonalitatea, ohiturak, erretzaileak kirolak, erlijioa, ume edo txakur zalea, animalien beldur..... (zuk nahi duzuna)

Ea honela euskal etxeen interesa pizten dugun eta irakaslerik ez dagoen tokietan klaseekin hasten garen.

Ilegala da zuei ordaintzea honegatik familia batek etxea eta janaria eskaini ahal dizue klaseen truke.
Zalantzarik?

ETORRI NAHI DUENAK (Those wishing to come over):

My name is Maria Sanchez Elizondo and I am 22 years old, but this Sunday on 17th is my birthday so I will be 23 years old.
2. My email is: marisaelizondo1@homail.com, and the telephone number: 616557481.
3. I am from the north of Navarra (Nafarroa).
4. I have the degree of (Magisterio de Primaria) and this year I am finishing (Magisterio de Lengua extranjera: Ingles)
I have experience with small children, the last three helping a child with her homework.
5. I will be ready to go after my exams, that is to say, from June 4th on. It will also depend on the flight, as I would like to find a good price ticket. And the return will be on September.
6. It doesn't matter village or city. It will be a dream to live near the beach
7. I would like to stay with a kind, friendly family.
8. I am a nice girl. I like meeting new people and do different things, go anywhere... I love tourism and visit new places. I am not fear of ordinary animals, but I do not like snakes!!! I do not smoke.

I am Unai Nafarrate, I am 23 years old and I come from Arrasate (Gipuzkoa). To be certain, Arrasate is located in the county of Gipuzkoa but the dialect that I speak is the western one (itīs called mendebaldeko euskara).

I studied Euskal Filologia in the University of the Basque Country and before coming here (to Scotland) I was working as basque teacher in a Euskaltegi, in Gasteiz. To be honest I like very much teaching basque, I enjoy it a lot. But my real passion is the nomalization of the language, and everything that has something to do with the basques language behavior and the basque diaspora. The Basque diaspora is something that Iīve always been interested in; the history of the basques abroad and these kind of things.

In the basque country I dance euskal dantza in the group "Txikitxu-Arrostaitz" too, in Arrasate, I began as a child (my two sisters too) and I really enjoy it, I love to dance. Not only basque dance, I love dancing and I love all routings. I enjoy watching many diferent kinds and styles of dance. I find myself that I am quite active person. I like going to the mountain, traveling... and currently I am living in Edinburgh as I said above, working in a restaurant and learning english. By the way, there are many basque people here aswell, and we are arranging a basque weekend for the middle of march. Furher more, we were talking and working out about a kind of a basque house here :)

I would like to go there on summer because as I said before, I like teaching basque and I am apasioned and really keen on the basque communities abroad, and would really like to know USA. In fact, I applied for a grant of Eusko Jaurlaritza to especialize myself in how to manage the basque houses and basque communities abroad. I canīt wait for hearing from Eusko Jaurlaritza about that, really lookng forward.

I would really like to know California (either a town as Chino or a city as San Francisco or whichever), but to be honest I would be very happy to go anywhere there and live that experience myself. I donīt know about the moving days because I donīt know how long would I be allowed to stay there but I would try to stay there as long as posible. Maybe from June until september/october? could it be possible? I donīt know.

My email address is this one ( unainafarrate@gmail.com)

I am Elena Guzón Arrese. I am 27 years old. I was born in Irun, Gipuzkoa and my mother tongue is Euskera. I have a degree in Art History from the University of Basque Country. While studying at the University, I tought Euskera in Vitoria-Gasteiz. I am a licenced teacher of Euskera and I teach different idiomes.  This year I am working as a the geography high school teacher.  I would like go to the USA to improve my English, so I offer Basque language classes in exchange of accommodation.  I plan to visit between July 1st and September 1st. I have no particular preference as to urban or rural settings. I would be open to just about any living situation. My only concern is that I am allergic to pets, ej. Dogs, cats, rabbits...I am a simple person. I like sports such as going to the mountain and going to beach. I don’t smoke. I like people new places and cultures. (posted 1/22)

LEARN BASQUE WITH A BASQUE FAMILY. We are a Basque family from Busturia in Bizkaia. For many years we have hosted Basque students from all over the world who have came to our house to learn Basque. They usually attend the euskaltegi in Gernika in the mornings. We would like to host a North American person interested in learning Basque during the year because in the summer we usually host the students that have a high level of Basque that are part of the program "Euskal familiekin egonaldiak"organized by HABE.  We are musicians and play actors. Ama Rosa is a teacher of Basque language. The aita Doro is a musician and actor and he used to teach Basque too. The two daughters are Andere (actress) and Maialen (musician). We have a dog and we love people from all over the world. We can negotiate the price of the stay.  In order to get in touch with us write us an email to: itzarri56@gmail.com
