The Gooding Basque Association is proud to announce that we have secured land and a loan to begin building our Basque Cultural Center. It will be located at the junction of State Highway 26 and State Highway 46 in Gooding. The project will begin the spring of 2002 and we hope to have it completed by the fall of 2002. The building will be approximately 6,000 square feet and have a commercial kitchen. We plan to have regular basque dinners served to the community as a means of generating revenue along with our annual Basque Picnic. The building will be available for the community to rent. It will be good to have a place to house the items that belong to the club and have a place to hold our Association functions. We will also have a place to meet, have dance classes, language classes and play Mus. This will make it possible to continue to maintain our heritage and culture and share it with the communities of the Magic Valley and Wood River Valley.
