The Boise Ikastola (Basque language school) and Basque Museum & Cultural Center successfully hosted the first Basque immersion summer camp the second week of June 2007.  The first phase was for those kids with some familiarity with the Basque language, and the second was for beginners.  The directors of the camp were Ramona Larrea and Patxi Kerns that oversaw kids from 3 to 9 years old.

The camp followed an immersion format using games and activities through the whole week.  In an interview (click on audio slideshow) Patxi Kerns notes that while the Basque may not be perfect, but nevertheless we have to make an effortto  speak in Basque.
