The Autonomous Basque Government along with the University of the Basque Country are making available opportunities for people to earn master degrees that comes with financial assistance.

European Master in Multilingualism and Education (EMME)
University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Donostia-San Sebastián

The aim of EMME is to promote excellent teaching and high quality research that inspires both students and faculty. Critical thinking and analytical skills are stimulated in a program that provides key concepts  and challenges of multilingualism and education. The Master encourages  students  to  continue  with  a   Ph.D.  This  European  Master  is  organized  in collaboration with the University of Groningen (Netherlands).

The student will:
- Develop an critical analytic attitude towards psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic and educational aspects of multilingualism and education
- Become a specialist at an advanced level in multilingualism and education
- Develop the capacity to solve problems related to multilingualism and education
- Acquire the ability to design multilingual educational systems in their sociolinguistic context
- Be capable to plan and implement innovation processes in different multilingual educational systems
- Become a skilful and qualified researcher in the area

The program consists of advanced courses (60 ECTS), a trainee-program (30 ECTS) and a Master Thesis (30 ECTS).

Begins September 2011.
