Location:  Boise, ID

Dates:  Monday, July 21 - Friday, July 25, 2008

Price:  $100 per participant for food, activities & materials (housing is separate)

Who can attend Gaztealde?  Participants must be between the ages of 16 through 20 years of age, members of a NABO organization, and have current medical insurance.  By design 21+ are beyond the boundary because of alcohol issues.

Who is going to direct Gaztealde? The leadership committee will consist of young adults (16-20) and older folks for a balance.  Amaya Ingram and John Ysursa will be serving as the co-directors.

What does the participant's fee of $100.00 include?  This covers the meals, activities, lessons and materials.

What will participants learn at Gaztealde?   Participants can expect to focus on the following Basque topics:  Dance, songs, Euskara, mus, pilota and culture.

When will applications for participants be available, and how do I get one?  Applications for participants are available at the link above, and due June 1st.

Can I turn my application in late?  No because we need to know how many are coming to first know if it will be held.

Can parents observe Gaztealde on a day to day basis?   No. No one will be allowed on site besides participants and staff without express authorization.

Which Airport is best to fly into?  Boise airport

Where will participants be housed?  Participants can choose:

DORMS LODGING OPTION:  Four nights (five days) for the workshops
Boise State University is less than a ten minute walk from the Basque Block (site of the workshops at the Boise Basque Center).  There are a limited number of rooms so it will be first-come/first served by application submission.  The cost for the four night stay is $75 on top of the $100 participant's fee.

ALTERNATIVE LODGING OPTIONS:  Stay with friends or local hotels. Contact them to make your own arrangements and payment.  Nearby options include:
 • Hampton Inn & Suites: 1-800 HAMPTON; $99 Boise State rate; 495 S. Capitol Blvd.; Full breakfast included; airport shuttle
 • The Grove Hotel: 1-888 961-5000; Approx. $120; 245 S. Capitol Blvd.; shuttle
 • Hotel 43: (208) 342-4622; Approx. $110; 981 Grove. St.; airport shuttle
