MIL ESKER to Maurice Negueloua for all the years he dedicated as NABO Pilota Chairman.  NABO has always depended on dedicated individuals who have stepped up to go beyond their own local Basque community and make a larger contribution.  Maurice's work was appreciated, because he helped to keep the pilota flame burning!

ZORIONAK to Tony Uharte who won the Silver Medal in Men's Handball Singles in the World Cup of Pilota (Oct. 6-13 in Barcelona) On his way to the Silver Medal he defeated Mexico (22-18) and France (22-15) before facing and losing to Spain in a tough match-up in the Gold Medal Game. This follows up the Bronze Medal he won at the World Championships in Mexico City in September of 2006. Tony first learned to play Pilota at the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center when he was a child by participating in Ikaspilota and Udaleku. He now resides in Euskal Herria with his family.
