GURE ETORKIZUNA: Our future--Basque youth

Our Basque-American will endure only to the extent that young Basques choose to keep it alive.  Thus Basque youth represent our future.  That is why NABO is presently at work on several initiatives to connect with these younger generations.  Follow these links for more information:

Youth Directors We hope to have at least one consistent contact in each community to help coordinate NABO events & communications.

Youth Director Workshop
: These will serve as workshops sponsored by NABO for our various youth directors to better network

Gaztemundu
: Once a year the Basque Government sponsors this two-week workshop in the Basque country.

Txildren's Txoko: is the page from the Ontario Oregon Basque Club for kids

Udaleku:  This two-week NABO summer camp is for kids ages 10-15

Gaztealde: this proposed several day assembly is for Basque young adults 16 & above.

Ikasi: the Center for Basque Studies offers this weekend program for adults who want to learn more about Basque culture, in addition to their regular course offerings.

The Cenarrusa Center in conjunction with Boise State University offers various courses.

The Boise Basque Museum & Cultural Center has a great roving kids exhibit for schools

Ikasi:  Most people stop learning by the age of 25 because they stop asking questions.  Don't fall into this trap; take advantage of the Center for Basque Studies' annual Ikasi program for adults who want to learn more about the world of the Basques.
